Hot-Pressed Polycrystalline Zinc Sulfide (HP ZnS) has a 70% average transmittance at 3-5µm and 8-12µm, and can reach over 90% transmittance after coated. The transmittance keeps no change under 400 °C. HP ZnS has not only stable optical performance, but also higher hardness, fracture toughness and good rain erosion resistance. Those makes HP ZnS one of the best infrared window materials with comprehensively high performance used in infrared imaging and guiding systems.
